the long distance walker

Our part of Cornwall has the South West Coast Path running along the coast, and so has a fair share of walkers. Most of these are day walkers, some will be aiming to do the whole of the SWCP, and a very few will have their sights set at a slightly greater distance. I met one of the latter today, a guy from Australia called Dave Byrnes who is off walking the length of the UK, from Lands End to John O'Groats. He is walking light, with just the basics - tent, decent sleeping bag, food for a day - and taking a couple of months to do the trip, at about 20 miles a day, seeing the UK as he goes..... and he is keeping an Online Diary of the trip if you'd like to keep up with how far he's got and his adventures as he goes along.

He's on Day 7 now.
Kinda inspiring don't you think??!
