Thyme and Butterflies

On May 10th our mid week volunteer group came to help plant some wild thyme in Tidna Valley. The main purpose of this was to create a suitable area for the Large Blue butterfly that became extinct in Tidna in 1976 due to the destruction of its habitat. The planting of the thyme is a step towards a reintroduction of this rare butterfly, as well as creating a good environment for birds and other insect species. So a big thank you to everyone who helped out and hopefully the project will be a success!
