From ponies to primates….

After 10 months as a full time volunteer with the North Cornwall Ranger team between Tintagel and Holywell, Kim Archer has moved to the Monkey Sanctuary in Looe for a years internship.

Kim has a lot of enthusiasm for her work and a love of Cornwall. The list of tasks and activities that Kim did whilst here is endless; but varied from walling to knitting, scrub clearing to surfing, bushcraft training to beach cleaning.

Kim particularly enjoyed checking on the Dartmoor ponies at Doyden during the winter and spring. Having studied Animal Science at Plymouth University she was keen to get a wide range of practical experience to help her with her future career. Having now achieved this she is keen to further her experience with animals. Hopefully the internship at the Monkey Sanctuary will give her the opportunity to carry out studies and research.

We will miss her smiling face, enthusiasm, work and sense of fun. But we all wish her well.

We will be looking for a new full time volunteer in the spring, so watch this space.
